On May 5-7, 2024, our Water team joined municipal and industry leaders at the Ontario Water For The Future Conference and Trade Show hosted jointly by Ontario Water Works Association (OWWA) and Water Environment Association of Ontario (WEAO). This is the largest conference in Ontario focused on the municipal water and wastewater sector, featuring presentations and industry insights on a wide range of technical, regulatory, and environmental topics. Participants learned from sector leaders about advances in understanding and novel solutions to water and wastewater management challenges including those related to climate change, excess nutrients, microplastics, and pharmaceuticals. Our team was particularly interested in the lively discussions around the role of nutrient recovery and reuse in accelerating circular economy solutions and advancing sustainable water systems, an area we have been working to advance and draw attention to in a Canadian context.
